Michael Thonet the inventor of bent wood using an innovative technique the use of steam. The no. 14 was immediately characterized as the bistro chair, known as a café chair or Vienna chair. Minimalist for the use of the material and for the number of pieces that make it up, only six, it is the result of a technological research that lasted twenty years. The intent was to bend the solid wood giving it a sinuous and elegant shape, Thonet began to use steam at exactly 104 degrees for six hours.
